“I had read about dermabrasion for several years and never thought it was something I would try, however getting older I felt I wanted something a bit more than just the daily skincare routine so did have a look at what was on offer for treatments. My skin had suffered from minor acne breakouts in the past which had left scarring and I also was conscious of fine lines starting to form. I looked at different alternatives and also reputable professionals and settled on Sharon after a consultation as she was very informative; non-intrusive; unbiased and gave me a good sense of comfort and confidence so I went ahead and booked several Dermabrasion sessions.”
“It was with some trepidation that I did my first session but Sharon put me very much at ease and it was much less painful than I had read about or heard about. A minor tingling and much less painful than any wax or IPL session or teeth whitening session I had done. Sharon was very careful to ensure that my comfort was kept all through the procedure (which takes about an hour in total end to end, from anaesthetic cream, waiting for the cream to work and the actually dermbrasion which is about 15 mins max). I felt that I could tell her to stop at any point and she was not push or insistent. Immediately after, my face looked red, like I had too much sun, so the best thing to do is get it in the evening if you want to avoid the public. The next day the redness had died down considerably and anything remaining can be covered easily with some light foundation. There is a slight drying out of the skin but keeping the routine of moisturising keeps anything noticeable at bay. Immediately after the first session I noticed the difference. My skin felt like a teenagers, soft and supple and my scarring was less noticeable. I also started to receive compliments from close friends who were used to seeing my face every day so that is something – the fact that they noticed was amazing. Two further sessions and 6 months later and people are commenting on how good my skin looks. People are also amazed that my face belies my true age by at least 5 years so that is a bonus. All in all, I am extremely happy at my decision to have dermabrasion. I am also extremely happy with the results and especially happy with the consultative way in which I engaged with Sharon at Flawless Clinics and her professionalism and support. For such a clinical procedure, at no point did I feel uncomfortable, and was happy with the whole sessions.
